Why is this in politics? Anyway remember subduction leads to orogeny.
Not sure what is meant by "deepest roots"? If you mean how deep below the crust I would go with the Cascadia subduction zone. If you mean furthest back in time I think there is one that goes back to the supercontinent Rodinia.

"Orogens?" What does that mean? Those red, squiggly lines under words aren't there for decoration.
