I am a alcoholic in England and drink Blue cider, I haven't got the virus?

I have been on blue cider (7.5% Frosty Jacks) for roughly 20 yrs daily (6 litres a day) .....I haven't got the virus and wonder if because of my blood/alcohol mix I will ever get it?

Is this true

Have you been tested? If not you could have the virus and not know it yet,

It's not because of your drinking. It just hasn't gotten to you yet.

Maybe the alcohol killed all the virus. Anyway this is better than drinking disinfectant, as our president advised. Anyhow, this is caused by a virus,  not alcohol. Alcohol will rune your immune system. So more likely to die, if you get COVID19

    No

You probably won't get it because you feed your addiction in private away from the public eye. Or you are one of the frosty jack clan that collect on public benches and are generally given social distancing measures as an unspoken rule.

Maybe. But when you die from liver damage it won't matter that you didn't have the virus.

  • Alcohol consumption has nothing to do with how the virus is spread. Have 1 drink per day, have 20. COVID-19 has nothing to do with that. You get it through close contact with someone who is infected.

Drinking alcohol does not make you immune from the virus.  You've just been lucky so far.  Hopefully, you're following the WHO/CDC guidelines to protect yourself (and others) from getting the virus.

That's ridiculous. You did not get the virus because you were probably not exposed to it.

By that logic you should also plan on living forever, right?  You’ve been not dead whilst drinking 6 litres a day. That means you’ll live forever as long as you keep drinking!!!

No. Drunk people can get sick too. The amount of alcohol found in the bloodstream even from heavy drinking is nowhere near high enough to havs a sterilising effect (1 standard drink per hour results in a bac of 1/10th of 1 %).
