It begins with things like leveling a billion acres of forest or plowing a billion acres of prairie to build factories, shopping malls, homes, roads, and so on. Those tens of billions of trees or quadrillions of grass plants are now gone forever. No plants, no oxygen production. Same as laying 200 acres of plastic turf over grass to play sports. Instead of breathing fresh air and oxygen at your feet, now you inhale plastic turf vapors. Obviously plastic grass doesn't produce oxygen.
