Medicare is available at 65 and full SS benefits are available at 67 but there is really no "general retirement age". Even SS benefits go up if one retires later than 67 which is an effort to encourage later retirement.

Anywhere in the US, you can begin to draw Social Security as early as 62. You are required to begin making withdraws from a traditional IRA by age 72.
You can retire at 30 if you can afford to live of your assets. You can work until you die after reaching 112 if you are able and so desire.

You can retire any time you want to. There is no state retirement age.
The reason people choose different ages to retire is that your age at retirement affects how much 'Social Security you get.
