Why did generator skip/short out?
I have been running my Predator 3500 generator for about 4 hours and still have at least half a tank of fuel but for some reason the generator ‘skipped out’ . Acted as if it were running out of gas for a few seconds and then seemed to recover and work fine again, but I turned it off almost right away so idk. What could had caused that? FYI I use the generator everyday continuously and it is a little over 1 yrs old

It didn't short out, that was an engine misfire which could be for several reasons as others have indicated. Nothing to do with it being a generator, simply an issue which could happen to any engine.

It misfired. Not unusual. If it keeps misfiring or does not start, it is time to worry. But it might be time to read the owner's manual and do some required maintenance on the generator. The plug, oil, the fuel filter and air filter probably had to be replaced 6 months ago. Good luck.

Clogged fuel filter, water in the fuel, low of oil if it has auto shutoff when low of oil, clogged carburetor, bad spark plug, etc.
