Have you seen bee movie? Try talking to it. 🤷🏾‍♀️ just politely ask him to go

There is probably a hive in a neighbour's garden not far away.  If that is so you could ask the beekeeper to come and look around your property to ensure there isn't a nest somewhere within the walls of your house. If that is so a bee-keeper would be able to safely move them to a place better for the bees and away from your house which would be damaged in time if they multiplied greatly.

Spray on and around the door with a flying insect repellent,

Or remove any flowering plants / climbers away from the doorway.

Try the spray in a small corner first though, In case it 'lifts' the paint!

It is the Bee all to end all FOR YOU.  IT  is a drone to make sure you social distance.  You are being watched.

It is most likely a carpenter bee, and it's probably got a hole near the doorway which it's using as a nest. This is pretty common. Carpenter bees don't hurt you--but you may not want them building nests inside your wooden structures. Go out and watch the bee to see where it enters--then block up the hole with some wood filler.  It will eventually move on.

I suggest you check what kind of bee it is and find out where it’s nest is. It is highly likely that it has a nest or hive near your door and that you are seeing different bees at different times.

I have had bees and wasps that have nested in my walls. I had a wasp colony that kept trying to build at nest above my front door for years. Then they had the nest inside the wall which I would see wasps but not know where the nest was, then one day they started releasing (just one or two at a time) wasps INSIDE the house. I realized this when I saw my puppy chasing one and I killed it. The next morning, of course a Sunday, she must have caught one because her face started to swell up. Fortunately the gal who answered the phone at the emergency vet was my regular vets receiptionst who I also knew from the dog park. She directed me on how to use benadryl and dosing and I dosed her then we drove to a park near the emergency vet in case I needed to take her in.

Now I always have benadryl on hand for this type of issue. BE SURE you get direction on using benadryl for dogs, some forms with other active ingredients should NOT be given to dogs.

Maybe it is a solitary living bee, that set up home in a cavity. Not all bees live in hives. It wont bother you if you don't bother it.
