Can you give yourself a blood clot by accidentally hitting an artery in your neck with your hand?

 I was laying down to go to bed and I lost control of my hand when I was putting on the covers and hit the side of my neck kind of hard.

    The blow would have to be severe and you would have to have some underlying condition that would make you susceptible to clots
