Eat iron-rich foods such as spinach or broccoli.

Cook in iron pans instead of aluminum.

Some people end up taking supplements their entire lives.

It is never normal for a male to become anemic. It is always a result of a pathological process. One needs to determine the source or cause of iron deficiency anemia which most of the time is a result of blood loss.

You need a proper diagnosis as to the cause and then treat that cause and the anemia will fix itself.

It is common for females because of menses to become anemic in their younger years but males do not have periods.

You need a proper diagnosis from a doctor. Too many questions to go into before one can answer your question. It isn't simply taking iron supplements. You are treating a symptom and not the cause.
