Your stepdad shouldn't NORMALLY be getting his SSI before the 1st.  It is due the 1st.  It is ONLY paid earlier when the 1st falls on a week-end or a national holiday and then it is paid the first weekday before.  Same thing applies to those who get their social security benefits on the 3rd (everyone else gets their social security benefits on the 2nd, 3rd or 4th Wednesday of the month).

June's SSI benefit is due June 1 which is a Monday and it isn't a holiday.  So there is NO REASON to pay it earlier.

I was a SS claims rep for 32 yrs.

Gee....ya think maybe it could be delayed a little because everyone is home locked down, working remotely, or on skeleton shifts? Have you just not NOTICED what's happening in the country?

Monday was a federal holiday.  Probably because banks are behind a day or so.

    Because the 1st is Monday?
