good appliances manufacturer?

I learned some car manufactures ignore defects that help dealer repairs shops and others improve on design and make good cars (Toyota). Who in appliances make good stuff even if you have to pay more. Maytag??

Most average priced appliances now are pretty much junk.  You are lucky to get 10 years from them.  But at the prices they are selling them, there is really not much to complain.   Between getting them repaired or buying a new one is always an easy decision.

If you want appliances that you can give to your grandchildren, you have to look at the high end brands, Subzero, Wolf, Miele, Thermador, Viking just to name a few.  You will need to mortgage your house for these appliances.

I have had pretty good luck with GE and Frigidaire. I have my grandma's Frigidaire dryer that I got when she passed away. It's 30 years old, and all I have ever had to do to it is put a new belt on it. I bought a GE washer about 10 years ago, and it still runs like a champ. I just replaced a Whirlpool (a brand that has always been equated with quality) refrigerator that lasted a whopping five years. My new one is made by LG. Hopefully, it will last longer than five years.

FYI Maytag isn't the great brand it used to be. My mom has a Maytag Centennial washer, and the cold water valve crapped out just outside of the warranty period. Apparently, that is a known issue with modern Maytag washers. Luckily, she and I were able to replace the part ourselves after watching a couple of Youtube videos.

Like cars who is the best changes every so often and brand like RCA and Curtis Mathis get bought by brands that make cheaper products then become low quality,

I think even a much a I like Toyota there trying to keep up with GM and Ford in numbers produced means they aren't as good as they were 20 years ago.

Maytag used to be really good when it was its own company.
