Hypothetical, since we are destroying history - Will we destroy the Constitution since there were slave owners names on it?

Just how far are we going to go with all of this nonsense?

BTW, I am looking for legit answers.  Not Snipe and weasel out.  I have a rodent problem, but refuse to hide under anonymous.  If you see a rant from a rodent, my history is open for exploration and will tell the truth.  Check the rodents history and verify the facts.

We should take down everything Thomas Jefferson. We should remove everything U.S. Grant. Grant was not opposed to slavery. If he was, why did he even own them?

I hope not, but with the way the attempt to eliminate the history of the US, is  going it is a possibility that it will be eliminated also.

The US is hardly the only nation with a messy history, but it seems that some here feel we're exceptional in this regard. This moment has come as a shock to most who don't live in the south that these odes to the Confederacy are even still displayed in public. But as societies that forget their pasts miss out on the instructive nature of related artifacts, it's important to remove these things from the public commons but they should be placed into museums so the lessons taught by them aren't lost. Germany has largely purged its culture of the legacy of Hitler, but one can still go to places to learn about how and why that happened. Just tearing things down without preserving them for intellectuals and future leaders to see is a grave mistake.
