Beatle's song lyrics?

Why is it that John's first verse and the "Never could be any other way" bit move from the right ear to the left ear in good quality earbuds?

How did they accomplish this?

Did they also notice this effect back then with headphones?

Has nothing to do with lyrics. This was done in a studio with professional recording and mixing equipment. Of course they noticed it. They made it that way.

Try listening to 'South Side of the Sky' by Yes with a good set of headphones for good usage of this technique. I don't know exactly how it's done but a sound engineer could tell you.

I don't know what song you're talking about but if the vocal is supposed to do that (it's not just dodgy earbuds!) then I expect it would be done as normal - by panning the vocal from one side to the other during mixdown.
