Answer to question 1:
LITTLE RED CORVETTE by Prince
LOW RIDER by War
I CAN'T DRIVE 55 by Sammy Hagar
MUSTANG SALLY
Answer to follow-up question:
1. The right combination of lyrics and melody are what make a great song. My pet peeve, when it comes to a song, is lack of variety in lyrics/repetition of the SAME lyrics. With over 50,000 words to choose from - some lyricist could really stand to be more creative.
So, to answer your second question: I rather have a song with a good melody and varied lyrics (even if it's about an electric car or nonsensical lyrics), over a song of substance that has limited/repetitious lyrics.
2. And, think it would be helpful if the electric car that is being sung about is slightly cooler than a Prius - such as a Tesla or BMW.
So yes, I think it's totally possible to have a good song about an electric car.

Aside from the obvious choices.
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Highway Chile
The Doors - Cars Hiss By My Window
Horslips - Motorway Madness
Motörhead - Riding With The Driver
Mahogany Rush - Finish Line
Hawkwind - Motorway City
Scorpions - Rock My Car
Sammy Hagar - Trans Am
Badlands - Hard Driver
King Kobra - Mean Street Machine
Fu Manchu - Redline
Truly - Blue Flame Ford
Hardline - Rhythm From A Red Car
Local H - BMW Man
As for Electric cars? It's possible, though it'd probably be either on the "Silent but Deadly" or tech related kind of vibe. Though you'd want to be quite a Petrolhead, or in this case a Motorhead. To come up with a tune that doesn't come across as a try-hard. Still you never know.

It's possible to write a song about whatever you desire to. No one tell if a song will be good or not. Good is relative. What's good to you may not be good to another person.

Electric cars? Well maybe a Tesla.
Love Janis and Highway Star is a good song too. I think I have to go with two Springsteen songs. Cadillac Ranch and Ramrod.
