Why is Injustice: Gods Among Us trending again?

I love the Injustice series and I'm a big fan of NetherRealm but if there is one thing I know it's that after the next NetherRealm game has been released the previous one dies quickly. The past games usually cap at around 20 - 200 players daily and for a while Injustice was at double digits but then it got a boost to 500 players all of a sudden. https://steamcharts.com/app/242700

    Because the game is available to download for free on just about every online storefront until the 25th.
