Medicines alter chemicals in your body and can have a profound impact on your hormones. Doctors are the biggest drug dealers. That being said, medicine (besides painkillers) used to treat a temporary illness are rarely considered dangerous. If your doctor prescribes you something, it's probably best to take it.
