Should I quit my job during pandemic?

Please read. I graduated college with an accounting degree in 2018. Worked for about a year at small company. Now working at global public company for about 4 months. I’m working usually from 45-70 hours a week and since I’m salaried I don’t get paid over time. Plus I cannot take any days off or vacation first week or last week of the month every month. Also, IT is working on a project and I’ve been asked to work on the weekends. Is it worth quitting during the pandemic? I’m just getting overwhelmed and stressed since my job is always in my head. I was making 46k at my first job working only 40 hours a week. Here I’m making 60k but I’m working sometimes 15 hours per day.

In choosing to be an accountant, you will always have to work the last week or first week of every month to finish the books.  So, get used to it.

Global companies have more of a tendency to abuse salaried people.  They expect you to be absolutely devoted and not have an outside life.  Don't just quit, most of us can't really afford that anyway.  Finding another job could take 3 months up to a year and you should look for a smaller company where you're not just another anonymous cog in the wheel.

Put your resume out there on places like Indeed & Careerbuilder.  There is no law that says you can't be looking while employed.

You never quit before you have already got another job...........

Make sure you have something to go to if you quit. Very few accounting firms are hiring these days, and the BLS reports that there are plenty of accountants (CPA, CMA) looking for jobs.

And to be sure, accounting is sometimes a 90-100 hour a week job.
