Can wheat bread be taken by a diabetic?

    Yes. I have been a type 1 diabetic for 65+ years and counting. I eat. bread, including wheat and whole grain white and rye or pumpernickel bread, EVERY DAY. I know how much insulin to take. I also eat rice and fruit, pasta  and potatoes and pizza, but not every day. 

    I had orange juice and a donut for breakfast today, after drinking regular crangrape juice an hour earlier because my blood sugar was at 53 mg/ dcl. I am on a new long acting insulin. I am trying to find the correct dose that works for ME.
