What happens if you insert a SIM card in a “stolen phone”?
My cousin marked his phone as stolen and got a new one from insurance and decided to give me his old one. The phone was unlocked which is probably why it’s still usable but if I’m on the same data plan as him what would happen if I inserted my SIM card into it as to use it?

The phone being blacklisted, shows up on the account and the account holder gets charged the FULL retail price of the phone he got through insurance, after the IMEI of the "STOLEN" phone shows up on the carrier's network.
It won't activate or will deactivate soon after due to being blacklisted.

You might brick the phone.
