Why are people so rude on here?

Because thats how we deal with users who we suspect to be trolls. 

"I just want legit answers and all I get are rude answers"

Put yourself in our shoes. Look at all of the trolling and garbage that gets posted to this site everyday. After awhile it gets kind of hard to tell who is legit and who is misrepresenting themselves. 

SOME are rude, because they can be. Some are not rude, but blunt or matter-of-fact. Any answer that violates the Community Guidelines or Terms of Service should be reported.

Knowing why people are 'rude' doesn't change their behavior. The internet has allowed people to express their "inner bully" and many choose to do so. Consider someone who behaves that way is likely unhappy inside and lashes out to help themselves feel better. It's sad, really. Mature, reasonable, emotionally balanced people don't behave that way.
