CPU with high idle temperatures?

Yesterday I bought a Ryzen 5 3600 and its idle temperatures are really high, usually around 80ºc. I have checked and the fans are working, I have tried using different thermal paste but to no avail. I was playing BF1 today when the cpu started throttling and when I noticed, it was at 95ºC. Is there anything I can do? Thanks in advance.

Hi. Robert has given a good answer. btw, you can open task manager by pressing ctrl-alt-del and checking the background processes and apps to see if there are any apps that are taking up lots of resources.

some games tax the cpu processor quite a lot and may cause heating.

if not, ask your friends who are good at computers or computer repairs for advice. or send it to an IT repair shop for servicing.

try not to open too many applications at any one time. did you overclock your cpu?

    You have something seriously wrong!

I'd try a full BIOS reset in case the voltages are wrong; and/or a bios update, if there is any newer one.
