Democrats: Name one Republican politician you admire. Republicans: Name one Dem you admire?

Also, the former mayor of my city of 350,000 was OK for a Republican. I actually voted for him...which is one of the few times I've EVER voted Republican.

As a Republican, I can name several Democrats I admire, but none are currently in any elected office. Two are former two-time Governors of Tennessee, Ned Ray McWhorter, who is deceased, and Phil Bredesen. Both were "right-of-center" Democrats. I also voted for Ned Ray twice and Bredesen's reelection.

Governor Gordon from my home state of Wyoming has actually done a great job handling the pandemic and the economy. In a state that still wants to deny that coal isn't what it used to be, he's openly admitted that they need to start finding new ways to fund the state. 

I admire Jimmy Carter and Obama.

Oh wait, those are both Democrats.  

Wow, I'd have to go all the way back to Lincoln for Republicans.. But then, he would be a Democrat today.

Locally, I would say, Annise Danette Parker.

Sylvester Turner  is okay

Jon Huntsman. He's served as ambassador to China, Russia and Singapore. He's fluent in Mandarin, he's a policy wonk, and he's a big supporter of simplifying the tax code.

Mitt Romney.

The other Republicans Senators were all snivelling cowards who flat out refused to do their duty.
