I don't know about William Jennings Bryan, but I do know America would have been much better today had Barack Hussein Obama not been elected in 2008, or 2012. But let me add, John McCain and Mitt Romney would probably have been no better.

Harry Turtledove was a writer of Alternate Histories.(His Best book was called Guns of the South-where General Lee's men used AK-47's to win the Civil War). That particular subject never came up in his mind. Try writing a 'What If' book yourself.
