People I thought were my friends ripped off a house with the help of the owners daughter, who was friends with a younger sister of one of my "friends."

The owners owned a liquor store and always had several deposits and booze at the house. I had nothing to do with the break in except to hear their plans. I was to smart for that even then. Well they got spotted by a different neighbor. Later that evening the cops came to my house. The others ended up with what I was told was 20 sum K and boxes of booze. And slaps on the wrist. The cash was never recovered so they said that I had found it and hid it. Almost 6 months on bond waiting for court while those assholes flaunted new clothes and other expensive stuff while totally avoiding (and laughing) at me as well as badmouthing me to anyone foolish enough to listen.
