Praying mantises as a pet to get rid of Unwanted spiders? ?
I hate spiders. I hate them very much. They always seem to find my room as a lovely place to stay however. My bed seems to be one of their favorite places to go, despite that not usually being a popular place for spiders in general.
I like praying mantises. They’re neat and are the only bug that does not bother me. Could I solve my spider problem by having 1 or 2 praying mantises have a walk around my room every once in a while?
Get a some small containers each with a praying mantis and maybe a few times a week just let them free in my room for a while. I assume I’d still have to feed them occasionally as I would a conventional pet as well.

Probably not. A praying mantis is an outdoor creature and in that, will need all the benefits outdoor life provides. If by happen-chance you did this, it is unlikely the mantises would do just what you want, and it is VERY LIKELY you would not find them after releasing them in your room.
One day you might find their dead, dried-up bodies somewhere in the house, or maybe you would just wonder what actually happened to them.
Considering the fact that spiders love bugs and insects, the better thing to do would be:
-Vacuum your room often, including all edges, corners, and around the ceiling. Use the attachment for all edges to get any dust or bugs. Spiders like insects and if there is an ample supply of food, will stay to dine. Vacuuming will remove that food supply.
-Launder your sheets regularly.
-Keep food and/or pet food out of your room. This will attract certain insects like ants. Check under your bed for hidden "treasures" for those bugs!!
-Use a wool duster or other duster to clean around the ceilings every once in awhile, besides vacuuming.
-Be sure you have screens on your windows and repair any holes in the screens that might allow unwanted visitors inside.
-Vacuum the window-wells of the windows. Dust and debris will attract bugs and spiders.
-If there is an outside light near your window, consider turning it off in case it is attracting insects.
-If you turn lights on inside your room and these are attracting insects, consider turning them off earlier, or running less of them.
-Try sprinkling diatomaceous earth or boric acid around edges of room between vacuuming. If using boric acid, keep pets away.
-Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum.
