Can I drive a BB and:or pellet gun in my car?
I’m 16 years old and I have my drivers license. I live in Nevada. I frequently drive to California where I shoot my BB and pellet guns. I only use them for target shooting. What are the laws pertaining to a 16 year old being in possession of BB and pellet guns in both states without an adult? What are the laws pertaining to a 16 year old driving with BB and pellet guns in the car? Are there any laws for bringing them across state lines? I look for the laws but can’t find anything specifically pertaining to drivers under the age of 18. 18 is the age that a person can buy a BB/pellet gun. Anyone under the age of 18 must have an “adults permission” whatever that means. So as you can see, there’s a 2 year gap where the law could potentially be different for those who own a BB/pellet gun, can drive, but are still under the age of 18.

Yes, you may keep it in your car. There are no specific laws regarding this because a pellet gun is not a firearm, and instead more akin to a toy. I just recommend you encounter law enforcement, you inform them of it existing in your vehicle immediately to avoid any confusion.
