Dogs pee and deep pile mats?

Hi, we have a deep pile rug (50mm) and have had the misfortune to have a dog pee on it. We have parrots so need a safe way of removing the smell.

Thank you in advance

Remove as much liquid as you can then use hydrogen peroxide on the area it's in the carpet pad so you might have to do a lot of cleaning

I would think the parrots would smell worse than a little spot of pee on a rug.  Soak the area with vinegar, let sit for 20 minute & then soak it up with bath towels you stand on or a shop vac can suck up the vinegar.  I am allergic to birds with high dander so all birds  smell like chickens.

I tried everything I could think of and ended up using a professional carpet cleaning company which uses some type of oxygen formula cleaner, safe for pets.
