How many Americans are eligible for military service?

Without a draft we can not be sure but right now of every ten that walk into the recruiting office to join,  eight are rejected for one reason or another.    Big ones are weight,  drug use,  felony convictions,   mental health issues and lack of a high school diploma.  

Today only about 18% of all Americans are eligible to join the Military

Less than 30% due to health issues and attitude malfunctions.

In America,  probably the biggest disqualifier is  being OVERWEIGHT. 

Too many chunky monkeys think Boot Camp is like some fat farm. ----and will get them in shape. 

NOOOOO, you have to meet the weight requirements   BEFORE you join. 

This isn't the MOVIES,  where fat slobs  are made fun of, and forced to eat donuts while everyone else gets cycled. 

The Military wants people who are already in GOOD shape, and will be made BETTER in the Military.

why the other cannot:  they are fat, not enough school, have medical issues or have criminal past

Less than 20% of males 18-35 meet the requirements to enter military service.

Not many. Many get disqualified because of their weight.
