Windows activation?
So I had windows 8 which I had activated, but then I updated to 8.1, now it says its not activated. Anyway I can get back to windows 8 which I have activated?

You should be able to reactivate it as the same license key is used for Windows 8 and 8.1. It'll only be a problem if you changed versions. If you had Windows 8 Single Language and then upgraded to Windows 8.1 Professional, you need a new key either by upgrading the existing one or by purchasing a new one.

This shouldn't happen if you downloaded the correct windows 8.1upgrade. I can only assume you downloaded a different version. The simple answer would be to reformat the computer and then reinstall the original windows 8 or better still do a free upgrade to windows 10

So I need just to format PC to get back to Windows 8 if my computer came with windows 8?
