Yes. Always. The essence of good art is detail. Examine any of the great paintings & you'll find them rife with detail that's often not noticed in your 1st or even 10th viewing. Your quality of observance will serve you well in most aspects of life. In art, it's a great advantage. It helps bring the art to a greater sense of being real.
