Bowing before royalty?

I am familiar with the word "nods" which is a slight movement of the head.

Additionally, the term "profound" would be a movement that bends at the torso to a large degree.

However, I don't know the term for a simple bow of gesture that is briefly performed that would move the torso slightly.

Therefore, I wonder if the word "bows" would be the correct term that covers a variety of forms.

The Japanese have specific terms for the bow in reference to the amount of body movement.

Although, my question is related to the English bow.

Furthermore, the above is related to the male gender, who approaches royalty/nobility.

Thank you in advance.

A 'neck bow' or long nod is sufficient for males.

Unless you happen to be first in the queue to meet royalty, simply watch how far the others bow, and act accordingly.
