The first man who celebrated his birthday, what was he thinking he was doing ?

Update:

The question could be funny in a historical context when people believe in evolution rather than creation. It does not imply not to commemorate people who died or great events.

It must have been the first man's mother who came up with the idea after his first year. She said now that first baby is one year old, I must bake a cake and put a candle on it.

    The rest is history.

And worse yet, the first recorded birthday happened on a Feb 29th leap year.

He was defeating "name days", making a statement against the social system in place.

Just as the West is at war against spiritualism and Orthodoxy, he wanted to erase bonds to others (he knew) of the same name and to Saints of that name.

The first person likely didn't really have a concept of time, it is believed it was around 2600BC that we started recording it, and whether we were right or not is anyone's guess
