Chocolate peanut butter cake. I’m a chocoholic and I’m also a huge fan of peanut butter. Put them together and you get a taste of heaven. My brother actually got me a chocolate peanut butter ice cream cake for my birthday this year...with an image of Spyro on top. It was the best birthday cake I’ve EVER gotten for my birthday.

Old fashioned spice cake.

A yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Second place goes to a nice, moist lemon bundt cake with a tiny bit of icing.  I outgrew various stages in life where I wanted a maple cake with maple frosting (for my birthday as a kid) to carrot cake with cream cheese frosting - which is sickeningly rich to me now.

Devil's chocolate cake.

Death by Chocolate Cake 

Mine, too. With lots of buttercream frosting!

Double layer chocolate cheesecake. The cheesecake filling is prepared as usual( no low fat cream cheese, only Philly full fat cream cheese) but 1 cup is removed. 4 squares of Baker's German chocolate are melted and incorporated into the 1 cup of batter.  The crust is made from crushed Oreos and butter. The chocolate cheesecake batter goes in first. The regular cheesecake on top. It's baked off for about 50 minutes with a glass bowl of water in the oven to keep it company. The oven is turned off and allowed to cool with the cheesecake inside. The cake is removed. Raspberries get pureed and that is drizzled on the cake. The 4 other squares of Baker's German Chocolate are then curled with a potato peeler, and sprinkled over the raspberry puree. 

Holy shirts on a coat hangar, the richness, the explosion of flavor, the creaminess, the tartness of the raspberries cutting the richness, the crust complimenting the filling. It's been known to put people into food comas. It's just so GOOD!

Classic white cake is my favorite. 

Classic vanilla birthday cake from the bakery is my favorite as well.  Sometimes I'll get a craving for that stuff and buy a birthday cake just because I can.  Funny how the checker will comment, "Oh!  Celebrating a birthday, huh?"  I just smile and not say anything.
