Is sunscreen useless if you mix it with oil?

I have a bottle of mineral sunscreen I barely made a dent in, because it’s hilariously drying on my skin. Don’t want to let it go to waste, though. Had an idea about mixing it with almond oil or shea butter and just use it at home where looking super shiny doesn’t matter. But does it render the sunscreen useless, or less effective?

It will definitely be less effective but  it won't be totally useless. It will still have the mineral barrier ingredients so it will still have some efficacy. Right now it's useless to you as is so adding something so you can use it is a good idea. Mix with something moisturizing and use it as you would a sunscreen with a lower SPF.
