Can a commercial lease landlord take your personal property if you do not pay rent? ?

    That's theft. You call the police. 

    However if you've moved out and left things behind they are required to notify you before they dispose of it as abandoned property.

    If you personally guaranteed the lease they can. (And you probably did)

    No in the U.K., however the court can make an order stating you owe him the money plus costs , it is then up to you to sell whatever you have  to pay him.
