real estate question?
I want to buy a property where an old building use to be. It is now an open space were police do training. I want to find out if that land is still available. Then I am going to have to find a contractors ect... How would I find out if it is still available??

You can check the tax records (online most places - google tax records for the county and state you are interested in) to see who owns it but if they wanted to sell it they'd probably put up a sign, so you are probably wasting your time. Still, no harming in checking.

You look in the land records, find out who owns it, and then contact them to try and buy it.

Your question contradicts itself. First, you say you want to buy a property, then you say it's open land???
Either way, contact a local commercial estate agents to see if it's for sale. Alternatively, check to see who the owner is and approach them with an offer.
You will need some serious funding behind you first though.
