What year did "Datsun" change its name to "Nissan"? ?

    The Name started phasing out of USA market in 1983. I had a 1985 Truck label as Nissan. Name change over complete by 1986.

    Official worldwide would be 1986 model year. This  happened a year or two earlier on some models, depending on  the market.

    1974 was the last year they made Datsun 280z's. It was Nissan in 1984.

    1934.

    To clarify - the name of the company since the early 30s was "Nissan."  "Datsun" was a model name.

    Nissan dropped the "Datsun" badge in 1986, though they revived it for sales in developing countries in 2013.

    In 1986 they phased out that name in the USA.
