Is there a birth control pill I can take that will stop or slow down my period without hormonal mood swing side effects?

Everyone reacts differently to birth control, so that’s hard to answer. Some have reported that the shot and the IUD have done this for them. I’m on the mini pill, and my periods are MUCH lighter (like spotting), and they come slightly less frequently which I’m not complaining about.  With combined birth control, if you skip the placebos and start a new pack, you can skip that way.

I’ve never had any real side effects from my birth control. Many types of pills can be taken continuously, meaning that you only take active pills and skip the placebos. I’ve been doing it for years. I use the NuvaRing now, but I used to take the pill. If you wanna take the pill that way, just talk to your doctor and they can prescribe it that way. Just a warning, the prescription needs to be written just right so the pack of 28 pills is for a 21 day supply. Otherwise, every month they will say you are 7 days early and insurance won’t cover it. I just use the ring normally, but instead of removing it for a week each month, I just change it once a month. If you start taking the pill and you have side effects or mood swings, ask the doc to switch you to another pill.
