Do the unhealthy elements of jam outweigh the healthy benefits of it?

There are no real 'health benefits'. Jelly and jam typically contain so much sugar, have been cooked and often strained, that any nutrition the fruit once contained is significantly reduced or gone. Most if not all of the fiber gets removed, which is one of the big "positives" about many fruits.

That's not to say it's not okay to have a reasonable serving now and then, but don't think of it as healthy because it's sugar with a little fruit in it. It's simply less unhealthy than something made with all artificial ingredients.

Yes. Jam is sugar. Sugar causes insulin spike and inflammation. There are no "healthy benefits" to eating jam or jelly or sugar. They taste good, that's all.
