If they ended horse 🐎 racing what will happen to the Kentucky Derby? People still watch to see the hats 🎩 and the people all dolled up?

If they ended Horse 🐴 Racing due to some issues of possible animal cruelty, could the Kentucky derby be saved?

Gambling could be possibly restructured with betting on the outcome of a random number generator or “dice table”

People will still come to the derby 🐎 to see the pretty hats and see the people all dolled up, maybe award 🥇 a sash to the best dressed?

People still come to see the people all dolled up and people tune in on TV for that, the race itself is just two minutes of sport in the midst of pageant.

Could the Kentucky derby continue without horse racing?

Update:

Maybe if they got rid of the horse 🐎 racing they could save horses from breaking their necks and having to be euthanized.

Update 2:

Maybe they could have the people that get all dolled up walk in front of the Judge’s Table and then award Some Kentucky Derby Sashes.

    Nope.

    No horse racing, no derby.

But maybe you can try to rent out Churchill Downs and organize your own big event along the lines you've suggested.  Invite everyone you know, notify the press, get the word out.

    It'll flop, big time.

Trying to grab the traditions of an historic event like the Derby while gutting the very heart of it is just a travesty.  A tragic travesty.
