I heard rumors of bulletin board systems that are accessed via old dial up modems which connect to each other via modem lines and such. So called BBS networks are said to exist as some sort of “closed shell system”

I also heard of secret VPNs that link hacker spaces and secret websites used by hackers and such that are used by both black hat and white hat hackers

I also heard about some sort of “secret hacker social network” that is not searchable and only accessible via a closed shell network and special hack software. Access is supposedly only by invite and used by hackers to share info about exploits and to upload exe files and Vbs scripts and Js and Python files like most people upload and post pics.

These hacker sites only connect via LANs, VPNs Bluetooth, and other channels and never become accessible to the public?

I live in the basement and have set up a cool media system. I have a utility closet set up with a malware proof Linux box with a few ATI rage cards and old monitors for viewing adult materials. The room is set up with color changing mood lighting controlled by the computer.

In the main media viewing area I have a “gaming rig” running windows Vista which has a 2.4ghz core 2 duo processor, a Nvidia G Force graphics card AGP with 256 mb vram. It also has an AMD Radeon card with 128 mb as an auxilary gpu in pci for a second screen. The system has 4gb of ram, a 56 k modem, 10/100 Ethernet adapter, floppy drive, Zip drive, DVD burner, and 500 gb of hard drive. The system has a water cooling system running GamerGirl Bathwater as the coolant.

Two 48 inch 1080p screens are connected to the pc for showing media and gaming.

I also have an old windows XP box running some old ati rage PCI gpus controlling old classroom projectors to show videos of pretty girls in beautiful vintage get ups and such and dancing Lindy hop couples to make up a “mobster lair” feel.

I have an old drink dispenser and a home built cigarette and cigar (various fuel types) dispenser, and a chair mounted lighter.

This geography project is about finding the best location for a second Stanford campus. The options are Las Vegas, Orlando, or Minneapolis

I am leaning towards Orlando because of the opportunities available in the city with connections to both the entertainment and aerospace industry (30 miles from Kennedy space center). It could offer an unparalleled astronomy program, aerospace engineering, computer science, planetary sciences, physics and in the future when space launches get cheaper even offer opportunities for Stanford students to study in space,

The other programs that could potentially do well in Orlando would be

Architecture

Mechanical Engineering - amusement parks, dosney imagoneering

Animation- Disney

Contemporary Vocal Music - one of a kind program offered by no other university, education for future pop stars

Theatre Arts for Film - theatre arts degree taylored for future movie actors

There is also a push for more tech industry along the I4 corridor and a new Stanford campus could fit well here? There are also no competing world class private universities in Orlando.

A program in special effects design would also work well in Orlando as there are many shows in the area.

It is also on the opposite side of the country as the main Stanford campus and would give Stanford teams the option of playing out of conference exhibition games against SEC or big East schools.

I was assigned a project to chose a city to build a new second mit campus in and come up with a justification for it the choices are St Paul Minnesota, Orlando Florida, or Las Vegas Nevada. I know that Orlando is near the Kennedy space center and near all the aerospace stuff on the space coast and is in a warm climate offering a different climate than the Boston campus?

St. Paul is near the Mayo Clinic and is a major center for healthcare? Unfortunately it is frigid?
