How come Trump is sick with Covid-19 if he is supposedly using the Malaria drug?

I think he only took hydroxychloroquine for a couple of weeks when some White House staff were infected previously.

Hydroxychloroquine does not cure the virus, you need to take zinc as well. Hydroxychloroquine will transport the zinc into the cells where it will interfere with the virus.

I see hydroxychloroquine as a troop carrier. You will be told that tests have shown that troop carriers do not win battles but they go a long way towards that if you also load them with troops (i.e.zinc).

Because the malaria drug does not work on this virus.
