Do Stone-evolved Pokémon learn level-based moves WHEN they evolve, or only when they reach that particular level? (Pokémon: Fire Red)?
I'm playing Pokémon: Fire Red on GBA and my Nidorina is at Level 21, one level before learning the move Bite according to my notes. However, according to a source I found online ( https://pokemondb.net/pokedex/nidoqueen/moves/3 ) Nidoqueen learns the excellent move Body Slam at Level 22.
From here, if I level Nidorina up to 22, I could gain Bite, at the risk that using a Moon Stone to evolve her into Nidoqueen would then prevent me from gaining Body Slam. However, if I use a Moon Stone now, I would be clear for Body Slam, but then lose the opportunity for her to learn Bite.

Upon leveling up Nidorina and gaining Bite, I used the Moon Stone and after the Evolution cutscene, I was given a prompt to learn the move Body Slam.

I believe it is one or the other. It's been a while since I played the GBA remakes, but I wouldn't be surprised if you could find a TM Body Slam somewhere. Whether it is just picking it up off the ground or buying it from a store.

You can learn Body Slam from the move tutor on Four Island so there's no real reason to evolve it early if that's all you care about.
