Why should any man get married? What's in it for him?

Really? Wow, that's the kind of question that will keep you single...no worries there dude. haha

Let me ask you this...what's in it for her? What are the 'great man values' ladies can look forward to?

Or even this, what do you want your answer to be? What do you think the answer should be for you to sit up straight and think, "Oh yeah, good stuff right there...that's good for me."?

This is a unfortunate day of disposable relationships, where when a difficulty or problem arise the couple can just move on to the lawn next door (where it's greener). Couples just don't seem to have enough value invested to put forth any real effort. Or if one of them do, the other don't. Put it this way, if two people going into a relationship work on keeping respect between them, they can overcome any obstacle and have everything they could dream of within that relationship. And keep in mind that REAL love will never want or desire to hurt what it is in love with.

Now wrap that around your cranium and dream big buddy!

    Oh yeah, good luck skipper!!

Having a strong wife is a beautiful thing and it will bring him great joy.

A strong person has good character (honesty, integrity, trustworthiness), displays a positive attitude (cheerful, caring, friendly, forgiving, helpful, and respectful), fulfills their responsibilities (for handling people who are pains in a positive way, for always trying to make a good choice, for taking care of themselves, for serving others), gives their best effort, and demonstrates self-control (of their body, anger, mouth and money).

This the type of person to become (if you're not one already) and they type to look for if you want to avoid a broken heart.

    Hope this helps!

I would think that, as we age, we'd get lonely without a spouse and family.

If you're a man and you can't answer that question yourself you should definitely not get married.

The same things that are in it for women. Marriage is a legal process that creates a family unit. Want your spouse to make medical decisions for you? Marriage is the cheapest, easiest way to achieve that (and most commonly upheld). Want to be covered by your spouse's employer provided health insurance? Gotta be legally married. Want to get the tax breaks and other financial benefits? Living together won't cut it, but getting married will. How about a clean, simple inheritance process that helps keep you out of probate court? Getting married makes that happen. Very few states recognize common law marriage anymore; those that do have very strict requirements. It's easy to take those types of rights and benefits for granted if you've never needed them, but that doesn't change the fact that those rights and benefits exist. Why do you think interracial couples fought for the right to get married in the 1960s? Why do you think the LGBTQ+ community is fighting for it now? It's not about the wedding. It's about the rights.

Ultimately, people seem to complain more about what divorce can do to them, rather than what marriage does for them. All of those rights and benefits are complicated, and therefore expensive, frustrating, and difficult to undo. Combining two lives is always easier than dividing one shared life. If that's a concern, read up on your local divorce laws. If you don't get a pre-nup, those laws will decide how marital assets are split. If you don't like that, get a pre-nup. Or even a post-nup.

Some men are interested in a life partner, others aren't.  Ask the man who is interested in marriage and see what he says.

He gets a free house keeper, someone to provide him with kids and raise them for him and someone convenient to have sex with.

Men often whine about being married yet it is a fact that Married men live longer than single men.
