If you mean a ceiling function for the greaest integer, then you have:

    f(x) = -2⌈x - 1.8⌉

    Set x = -12 to get:

    f(-12) = -2⌈-12 - 1.8⌉

    f(-12) = -2⌈-13.8⌉

You want the lowest integer that is greater than -13.8 to replace what's inside my ceiling function.  That is -13 (-14 is less than -13.8 and would be the result if this was the floor function):

    f(-12) = -2(-13)

    Finally, multiply:

    f(-12) = 26

     f(x) = -2[[x - 1.8]],

     f(-12) = 27.6
