Can I join military with IBS?
I have always wanted to join the US Navy since I was very young, and I have been planning to forever. When I wake up in the morning that is all I want to do. When I was 18 I got extreme abdominal pain, the pain is gone now (I am 20 now) but I have extreme naseua every day. Sometimes it’s hard to get through. I am in college right now finishing up my associates degree and planning on enlisting into the US Navy Reserves so I can finish my last 4 years of college then switch to active duty. I have not told the recruiter about my issues, I am extremely worried and honestly depressed that I might not be able to uphold my lifelong dream. Is there any current or former armed forces member that has or had IBS symptoms and pushed through? I need honest answers please. I want to hear from peoples experiences. Please. And for more information, the doctors never put on record that I have IBS, they said they don’t know for sure so they just put abdominal pain. I am also on ZERO medications for anything.
