Is it very expensive to live in the Virginia suburbs of Washington DC?

    The Washington DC "metro area" is one of the top 5 most expensive places to live in the USA.  Metro area includes sections of Virginia and Maryland, roughly 20 miles outside of the i495 beltway in all directions.
