What is the answer to this quadratic function question?

A rectangle's width is 5 feet less than its length. If the area of the rectangle is 546 square feet. What is the length, in feet ?

I would think youd add 5 to 546 and then square root it, however I can tell thats not the correct answer.

    Call the rectangle's length L.

    Than its width is L - 5.

    Its area is length x width = L(L - 5)

    So L(L - 5) = 546. Simplifying,

    L² - 5L - 546 = 0 Factoring,

    (L + 21)(L - 26) = 0

    Rejecting the negative solution,

    L = 26 ft

    A rectangle's width is 5 feet less than its length.

    If the area of the rectangle is 546 square feet.

    w(w + 5) - 546 = 0

    (w - 21) (w + 26) = 0

    What is the length, in feet ?

    The length is 26 feet.
