What different between 'lawyer' and 'attorney' do they have?

    --  They are exactly the same. In the US they do the same thing, in court or out.

    --  In many countries there is a difference between a Barrister who defends or prosecutes in court, and a Solicitor who covers other legal matters -- preparing wills, property transfers, pre-nuptial agreements, researches cases, etc.

    In some countries, none.

    In some countries, the word "lawyer" includes attorneys and solicitors, but the word "attorney" does not include solicitors.

    In the US, they are the same thing.

    In the UK, there are several different terms for different specialties within what the US calls an attorney or lawyer.

    A lawyer is an attorney, and an attorney is a lawyer. The only difference is how the words sound.

    Attorney is the official word for a lawyer in the U.S
