It has made some temporary and some permanent changes. Many are now working from home on a permanent basis. The social distancing will only come to an end when an effective vaccine is rolled out.

It has caused a temporary setback in peoples' lives, but it won't be a permanent situation, just like how the Great Depression wasn't permanent, although some too suggested at the time it would be.
