Are anti-abortion Christians aware of the verses in the Book of Numbers that give instructions on how to force a woman to miscarry?

Numbers 5:16-22 and please, read before and after so you can see for yourself that I am not 'taking it out of context'.

Update:

@ creation detective- you suck at detecting. here the priest is to put the woman under this curse—“may the Lord cause you to become a curse[a] among your people when he makes your womb miscarry and your abdomen swell. (notice it says 'make your womb miscarry')

Update 2:

@ archer, probably not but I have never heard a non-Christian (or Muslim) insist on women not having that choice)

Update 3:

@ smoochie cuddlekins,, a fetus is NOT a baby. Millions of miscarriages and still-births have happened throughout time. It is a medical process. I know what it's like to get attached to my fetus and call it 'my baby', but that gives me no right to make others do the same as me. Whenever my friends or I said anything about 'my baby' when I was pregnant, that didn't make it true.

Update 4:

@ smoochie, Both OT God and NT Jesus hardly say anything about children or pregnancy. It wasn't much of an issue to them. Only the patriarchal church wants to butt in. I don't like the OT God very much but at least he said a woman is a life, even as he implied a fetus was the husband's property. (Exodus-punishment for fighting)

Update 5:

@ God of Thunder, yeah, right./ You make me laugh. Although...the books of the OT were written in ancient Aramaic and Hebrew. Then translated to Greek. Then translated to Latin for hundreds of years b/c he RCC (Roman Catholic Church) wanted THEIR interpretation to be the only one.

Update 6:

@ GoT,  But then Luther came along & after, I guess the 1st Lutheran Church was German (?). Then K. Henry VIII just had to have a divorce so he made up his own religion (Episcopalian/Church of England). Those were the first 'Protestant' Churches, there's a lot more to it but as of today, there are literally 1000's of Christian sects and several different Bibles. So I agree that there are other 'interpretations'. But put into context, there are no verses that say a woman has to stay pregnant.

Update 7:

@ David, of course it doesn't work. The point is, that was what they believed and say this God told them to do. Your reasoning' is still unsound. Millions of women have miscarriages, regardless of whatever religion they are.

I have read that passage many times and seen nothing hinting it was done on a pregnant woman. If the woman was found guilty, she wouldn’t be able to conceive and if she’s innocent she would be able to bear children. So no those passages are nothing about miscarriages or abortion.

It is not just Christians who feel 'they' have the right to impose theirs upon others.

Well I know it did say God wanted them to get rid of every firstborn and he had his reasons, but that was in the old testament and I know the old testament still applies today because the stories in there are how we can learn to live the way God wants, but God still does not want us to abort our children it doesn't matter what the reasoning is. To me abortion is just like murder even though it's an unborn child.

They've come up with a new interpretation of that passage, one that fits the doctrine they adopted in the late 1970s.

    Wrong.

They don't force a woman to miscarry.  If you don't believe it, try that ritual out on some woman and see.

If the woman had been unfaithful, God would have caused the miscarriage.  As the Creator of life, only he has the authority to do what he wants with that life.  That was all part of God trying to make the ancient Israelites into a holy nation (Ex 19:3-8).  He's not trying to do that with any countries today.

anti-abortion christians won't even admit that over 75% of the abortions in the US are obtained by christian women!  LOL!
